Martin Wars

So we have at least one, and sometimes two, very aggressive purple martins who are attempting to repel boarders.

Several sparrows want to nest in the martin house, which is hardly unusual. And we've had seasons where both types of birds have co-habitated (sounds pretty cool actually).  But this particular martin and his back-up seem unwilling to accept that solution.

However, the sparrows ain't stupid. They lay low until the martins go off for a snack and then fly up to the housing and re-stake their claim on one of the apartments.

We'll see who tires first.
