Last of Early Voting

I survived, barely, the last day of early voting.

We did 2888 yesterday, with lines up until we closed. My eVid was down, because my printer burned up so the lines were longer than we wanted them to be.  Even so, we only saw one grouchy voter. Most folks realized we were doing the best we could under the extraordinary circumstances.

We voted 33K people county wide for early voting, out of a registered voter population of 129K, which looks to me to be about 1/4 of our total voting population. This is not counting the number of absentee votes sent in.

I have never seen that many black voters, or that many young voters. It was terrific to see so many people motivated to get out and actually have a say in democracy!

In 2004, the last presidential election, a total of 10K folks voted early, so we more than tripled the number taking advantage of early voting...

kudos for an important job well done!
I am in awe of you for doing this. Kudos to you! And congrats for getting through all those long days of early voting! I'm sending you the virtual fortification of your choice on Tuesday! :-)

I'm very impressed by the statistics you cite, too. I can't bear to hope...
I will be really, really fascinated to read your voting-day report and see whether your huge early-voting leads to a landslide turnout on Election day.

(And in case it does, I will be sending you good wishes for stamina, energy, and even temper.)

ETA: given those hordes were only 1/4 of your total voters, it does sound like you're in for a deluge.
