25. The Three Musketeers - Alexandre Dumas

A re-read for me. Actually, I listened to an audio version this time. Good fun, although I confess I found the supposed wonderfulness of Milady a bit hard to take. Or are men really that easy to dupe?

Come now, Monsieur D'Artagnan was repeatedly referred to by Treville, the King, Richilieu, Rochefort, Porthos, Athos, and Aramis as being not yet twenty years of age.
At that age a young mans brain is fueled by hormonal fumes. lol

I'm actually in the process of reading this for the first time ever.
I'm just past where Milady has been kidnapped again, after saving the Queen's aguilettes, thus avoiding exposing her relationship with Buckingham at the ball.

I'm enjoying it so far.
I'm rather amazed at all of the differences between the book and all of the movies
yes. none of the movies stays very close to the book.

See, I think more of guys than you guys do!
Dumas is my favorite author. My favorite book is The Count of Monte Cristo. Why, oh why does hollywood mess with the ending!?!?! Even Gerard Depardieu's version of The Count of MC swings the ending. WTH. O_o No no no no no.

::grumps::

And what the hell was the last verion Hollywood made? It didn't even include the poison!

I love TTM. The death scene with Dartanian is just an amazing passage. I have it bookmarked. lol.
You know Hollywood, finding more ways to muck up perfection than one can possibly imagine...
