Christ cheers for the Rockies!

A Christian baseball team?

Oh, not to worry though:

<<Quotes from Scripture are posted in the weight room. Chapel service is packed on Sundays. Prayer and fellowship groups each Tuesday are well-attended. It's not unusual for the front office executives to pray together.>>

<<Christians, and what they've endured, are some of the strongest people in baseball. I believe God sends signs, and we're seeing those.">>

Yes, poor poor Christians, sooooo abused, so martyred for their faith here in the US.  I saw one strung up just the other day!

<<Helton echoes Rockies executives who say the team rejects intolerance. "I have never noticed anybody feeling uncomfortable here," he says. "We have good people here. ... Guys who stay out of trouble. Guys who go to Bible study every Tuesday. But it's still a baseball clubhouse.>>

Now why would anyone not a Christian feel uncomfortable in that Bible study group every Tuesday? Can't imagine it! NO way!

<<"We try to do the best job we can to get people with the right sense of moral values, but we certainly don't poll our players or our organization to find out who is Christian and who isn't," says O'Dowd, who says he has had prayer sessions on the telephone with club President Keli McGregor and manager Clint Hurdle. "I know some of the guys who are Christians, but I can't tell you who is and who isn't.">>

Uhm, possibly because if they don't shut up and accept your version of "moral values" you'd fire them?

I would wait to be fired, I would not be able to function there!!
Am I the only one who now wants to get together a pagan baseball team, just so we can whop their asses?

I mean, hey, they play on the center of a pentagram, whatcha expect?!
I don't like it. I will just HAVE to start an atheist team. It reminds me of the situation we used to have in the Netherlands, where Catholics had their own league and Protestants, and their own butcher and broadcastcooperation. And mever ever list to the wrong program, shop in the wrong shop or play against the wrong team. Let alone TALKING amongst one and other. No no, recipe for either problems or static society, propably boths. (Or, if lucky, a somewhat revolutionary movement towards playfull liberalism of the hippies. But I wouldn't bet on it, not this time).
