Hurricane Dean

So we've got our first serious hurricane of the season, scheduled to make its way into the Caribbean Sunday or so, with a first landfall on the Yucatan peninsula.

They are currently saying they see no recurvature to the north east, but most of our major hurricanes have hit the Yucatan and then recurved up to get us, so we (well, me anyway) are getting a bit nervous as we keep an eye on Dean.

The Gulf waters are very very warm, low windshear and steering currents so we may be in for a difficult week next week.

The worst part of hurricanes, is the waiting, and watching, and knowing you just cannot turn your back on them until they are well inland.
